Little Free Libraries

The Story of the Six Little Free Libraries

West Swindon residents now have six new opportunities to share their love of books as a community. The Parish Council has revamped its first library at Peatmoor Lake and unveiled five Little Libraries in locations across the area: Crawford Close, Swinley Drive, King Henry Drive, Lucerne Close, and Sparcells Drive.

These colourful book-sharing boxes have been carefully built and painted by the Parish Team to provide a special space for residents to take a book or leave a book. Each library is supported by a local volunteer host who will help look after it.

Cllr Rose Llewellyn, Chair of the Parish Council, said:
“Little Libraries are a simple idea that helps us promote a love of reading whilst also sharing and recycling. Our thanks go to the hosts for their support and we hope our libraries will be well used and well loved.
