PARISH TEAM APPRENTICE

(Salary: National Minimum Wage for Apprentices)

Are you physically fit and enjoy working outdoors?  We need someone who is reliable, motivated, and keen to be an essential member of our hard working, friendly team?

We are looking to recruit a new team member who we will support as an apprentice and train to deliver our day-to-day duties.  You will be able to be physically active throughout the working day and happy to be working outdoors in all weather.  You may have a keen interest in the maintenance and upkeep of the equipment and machines. This role is open to someone who has no experience but has the enthusiasm and motivation to be a team member.  We value a positive attitude.

In return we offer 28 days annual leave, full clothing, training and free onsite parking.

We will also support you to complete a Horticulture Level 2 Qualification.  This will be on day release for which you will need to be able to travel independently to Chippenham (travel expenses will be reimbursed).

The successful apprentice will be a hands on person who is not afraid of getting involved in all aspects of the work.  We will support you to use a wide range of tools and machinery including working with a tractor. You will be able to work on your own and as part of a team.

You will be aged 18 years or over and have a clean full driving license.

On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to join the Parish Team as a full time member of staff.

Apply in writing by sending us a letter, hand written by you, saying why you are applying and what makes you a great choice.  Please include at least two independent work or education based referees who will be contactable before you are appointed.

Applications to be received by 5.00 pm 12 September 2025. To: West Swindon Parish Council, Unit 25 Westmead Industrial Estate, Swindon, SN5 7YT.
